Parish of Saint
Clement Danes.
At a Meeting of the Committee for Paving Elected and
appointed pursuant to an Act of Parliament in the Vestry
Room of Saint Clement Danes the 19th. March 1773 .

Proposed and Agreed that Mr. Vaughan take the Chair

The Minutes of the last Meeting read and Confirmed

Several of the Inhabitants of Carey and Portugal Streets and several other
places complaining of the lateness and badness of lighting the Lamps and of the want of
several particularly one in Ogden Court Ordered that the Contractors [..]
notice that this Committee will bring Actions against them unless amends
be immediately made or that this Committee will order another Person to be
the same and deduct the expence out of Money to arise from their Contract.

A Bill from Thomas Baker< no role > for his daily Attendance in New
Paving the several Streets and Places lately Paved amounting to £21. which
being read Ordered that the same be remitted to the Commrs. for Payment on
of Monies received for New Paving for which this Committee signed the same

Ordered that Mr. Banister do Survey the Work at the back Door of
Mr. Crawford in Milford Lane and if proper order the same to be repaired

Ordered that the Clerk do employ Mr. Serjt: Davy and Mr. Lewis as
Council for the Committee on the Appeal before the Commissioners relative to Serles
Court Lincolns Inn and that if Mr. Serjt. Davy be not in Town that he employ
Mr. Lucas.

Several Inhabitants complaining of the Scavenger not doing his business
Ordered that the Contractor have notice thereof and that unless he immediately [..]
the same this Committee will Commence an Action agst: him on his Contract

It being Reported that Mr. Buddle left some Rubbish after doing [..]
work in New Castle Court Ordered that Mr. Buddle have notice to remove the same.

Adjourned to the 2d. April next at 6 O'clock.
