Samuel Byton< no role > maketh oath That divers
Years Ago he was duly bound Apprentice by the Parish officers
of the Parish of Dola Zouch in the County of Leicester to
one John Nichols< no role > of the Parish of Appleby in the same
County Taylor & Served two Years of his Apprenticeship in
the said parish of Appleby & then left his said Master &
did not afterwards return to him & by means thereof gained
a legal Settlement there That he has not Since lived as a hired
Servant for a year nor rented a house of Ten pounds a year or
upwards or Served any parish office or paid any Poors Rates
or Kings Taxes or done any Act to his knowledge or
belief to gain a Subsequent Settlement
