An Inquisition indented taken for our sovereign Lord the king at the Parish of Saint John within the
Borough of Southwark in the County of Survey on the eleventh day of October in the twenty eighth year of the reign four sovereign Lord
George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland king Depender of the faith Etc. before Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman
Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark an view of the Body of William Plain< no role > now here lying dead
by the oath of John Lloyd< no role > , James Joyce< no role > , Francis Harlow< no role > , Benjamin Palmis< no role > , Matthew Allen< no role > , Thomas Rowland< no role > , John Tooth< no role > , Henry Ray,
Charles Browning< no role > , James Clark< no role > , Samuel Ash< no role > and James Bargets good and lawful men of the Borough of Southwark aforesaid in the said
County of Survey who being now here duly chose, sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when how and in what manner the
said Williams Plain< no role > came to his Death say upon their oath that she said William plain< no role > on the fourth day of October in the twenty eighth,
year aforesaid as the Parish aforesaid within the Borough aforesaid in the County aforesaid being in and on board a certain Boat on the River Thomas
it so happened that she said William Plain< no role > on the day and year aforesaid at the Parish afore said within the Borough aforesaid in the County aforesaid
accidentally casually and by misfortune fell from and was of she said Boat into the said River Thomas and in and with the Waters of the said River was then and
there suffocated and drowned Of which said suffocation and drawning he the said William Plain< no role > did then and there instantly die And so the Jurors aforesaid
upon their oath aforesaid do say that she said William Plain< no role > then and there in manner and by the means aforesaid accidentally casually and by
misfortune was suffocated and drowned In Witness where of as well the said Coroner as the said John Lloyd< no role > the Foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of
himself and the rest of his Fellows in their presence have to this Inquisition at their hands and seals the day year and place first above written.
