Informations of Witnesses taken at the Parish of
Saint George the Martyr in the Borough of
Southwark in the County of Surrey the 26 day of
February 1789 on View of the Body of Thomas
Hemitt
< no role > then and there lying dead

Richard Preston< no role > a Prisoner in His Majestys new
Gaol within the Borough of Southwark maketh Oath
and with ha hath known the deceased Thomas Hemitt
about four Days that the deceased has been in the
Sick Ward where Deponent attends the whole of that
time very ill [..] that he continued very ill until
his Death that during the said four Days he
was greatly Consulted and from Monday Morning
until Tuesday Evening following he had very
Strong, fits until his Death which happened about
six O Clock on said Tuesday Evening that he was
attended by the Surgeon of the said Gaol and
that he believes there fits to have been the came
of his Death
