An Inquisition indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at London that is to
say at the Precinct of Bridewell Hospital in the Ward of Farringdon without in London aforesaid
on the Seventh day of August in the thirtieth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George
the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the
Faith Etc before Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City of
London and Borough of Southwark on view of the Body of Joseph Howel< no role > now here lying
dead and by the Oath of James Phillips< no role > Thomas Couling< no role > , Roger Owen< no role > , Edward Owen< no role >
Thomas Allum< no role > Robert Smart< no role > John Harris< no role > , William Webb< no role > John Sanders< no role > Isaac Eastridge< no role >
John Hardwicke< no role > & David Connelly good and lawful Men of the City of London aforesaid who
being now here duly chosen Sworn and Charged to Inquire for our said Lord the
King when how and in what manner the said Joseph Howel< no role > came to his death say
upon their Oath that the [..] Joseph Howel< no role > on the fifth day of August in the Year
aforesaid accidentally casually and by Misfortune fell into the River Thames and
in and with the Waters of the said River was Suffocated and drowned Of which said
Suffocation and Drowning her the said Joseph Howel< no role > did then and there die And so
the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say that the said Joseph
Howel in manner and by the Means aforesaid accidentally casually and by Misfortune
was suffocated and drowned In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner
as the said James Phillips Foreman< no role > of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and others
his fellows in their presence have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals the day Year
and Place first above written
