An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at London that is to say
at the Parish of Saint Bartholomew the Great in the ward of Farringdon without in London aforesaid on the
twenty eighth day of August in the thirtieth Year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace
of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King defender of the faith and so forth Before Thomas Shelton< no role >
Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark on view of the
Body of Charles Webb< no role > now here lying dead by the Oath of William Pettit< no role > John Castle< no role > Samuel Bower< no role >
John Brown< no role > William Catchpole< no role > , Thomas Ordish< no role > , Robert Sturt< no role > , George Stonard, George Lockett< no role > , John
Mash Luke Hodgson John Hunt< no role > and William Tuck< no role > good and lawful Men of the City of London
aforesaid who being now here duly chosen Sworn and charged to Inquire for our said Lord the King
when how and in what manner the said Charles Webb< no role > came to his Death say upon their Oath
that on the twentieth day of August in the Year aforesaid the said Charles Webb< no role > being employed in the
working a certain Fire Engine belonging to the Sun Fire Office in the City of London for the purpose of
extinguishing a certain fire which had then broke out at a certain House situate in Gall Street Lincolns Inn
Fields in the County of Middlesex and being near unto the said House It so happened that the front part
of the said House did then and there accidentally casually and by misfortune give way and face into
the said Street there and divers and very many Bricks and pieces of Mortar and other Rubbish did then
and there fall upon and over the said Charles Webb< no role > By means whereof he the said Charles Webb< no role > did
then and there receive divers mortal wounds and bruises in and upon the hand face back sides arms
Legs and thighs of he in the said Charles Webb< no role > of which said Mortal wounds and bruises he the said
Charles Webb< no role > afterwards, to wit, on the same day and Year last aforesaid at the said Parish of Saint
Bartholomew the great in the ward aforesaid in London aforesaid did die And so the Jurors aforesaid
upon their Oath aforesaid do say that the said Charles Webb< no role > in manner and by the means aforesaid
casually and by misfortune was accidentally killed In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as
the said William Pettit< no role > the Foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his fellows in
their presence have to this Inquisition set their hands and Seals the day Year and place first above written
