Southwark

Depositions of Witnesses taken at the
Parish of Saint George within the Borough
of Southwark in the County of Surrey this
1st: day of February 1794 on view of the Body
of John Gibb< no role > now here lying Dead

William Matthew< no role > Servant to Mr. Ives Keeper of
His Majesty's Gaol for the County of Surrey maketh Oath
that he hath known the deced John Gibb since the 21st.
day of Novemr. last that he was Prisoner in the said Gaol
and was convicted at the last Quarter Session held for the
sd. County of Frand-thatabout ten Days ago the deced
was taken ill
the deced had an Asthmatic Complaint
on him when he first came to the Gaol-that he was on
aged Man and sayed himself that he was Seventy two
years of Age-that on the Day of his Conviction he was
appeared very unwell and continued to decline and
get worse from that Day that he took to his Bed a Day or
two after and continued to get worse daily until last
Night about Nine OClock when he departed this Life
that he was attended by the Surgeon of the said Gaol
and Dept. is of opinion the deceds Death happened
from the aforesaid Complaint together with old Age.
