AN INQUISITION indented, taken for our sovereign Lord the King, at The Parish
of Saint George in the County of
Middlesex , the Sixth Day of May in the Twenty fifth Year of the Reign of
our sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third , by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain, France, and
Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas Phillips< no role >
one of the Coroners of our said Lord the King for the said County, on View of the Body of
Dennis Donovan< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of
Aaron Clinker< no role > , Henry Batger< no role > , William Batyer< no role > , John Hardy< no role > , William Paine< no role > , John
Comerford, Anthony Batger< no role > , John Shave< no role > , William Robson< no role > , Charles Edlin< no role > , John Mashider< no role >
Benjamin Walker< no role > and Ambrose Warfe< no role >
good and lawful Men of the said County, duly chosen, and who being then and there duly
sworn and charged to inquire, for our said Lord the King, when, how, and by what Means, the
said Dennis Donovan< no role > came to his
Death, do, upon their Oath, say, That the said Dennis Donovan< no role > on the fourth Day of
May in the Year aforesaid being a Bricklayers Labourer and going up a Ladder at
the Sugar House of William Pell< no role > situate in the Parish and County aforesaid with another
Ladder upon his Left Shoulder It so happened That he the said Dennis Donovan< no role >
then and there accidentally, casually and by Misfortune fell from the said first mentioned
Ladder to and upon the Stone Pavement in the Yard of him the said William Pell< no role >
By Means whereof he the said Dennis Donovan< no role > then and there received One Mortal
Fracture in and upon the Skull of him the said Dennis Donovan Of which said Mortal
Fracture he the said Dennis Donovan< no role > then and there instantly died And so the Jurors
aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid Do say That the said Dennis Donovan< no role > in manner
and by the means aforesaid accidentally, casually and by Misfortune Came to his Death

IN WITNESS whereof, as well the said Coroner as the said Aaron Clinker< no role >
the Foreman of the said Jurors, on the Behalf of himself and the Rest of his said Fellows, in
their Presence, have, to this Inquisition, set their Hands and Seals, the Day and Year first
above written.
