To the Right Honourable Sr. John Thomson< no role > Knt . Lord Mayor of
the City of London and to the Honourable his Majesties Justices of
Oyer and Terminer and Goal Delivery for the said City of London and
County of Middlesex .

The humble Petition of John Farmer< no role >

Sheweth

That your Petr. being declared a Bankrupt he went thro' his
Examination at the third Sitting but was about three Weeks ago Committed to
the Gate House for a pretended Concealment to the Value of Twenty
Pounds and upwards (of which your Petr. is entirely Innocent) and is now
removed to Newgate in ordr. as your Petr. apprehends to be tryed for
the same

That your Petr. is ready to take a Tryal but is justly apprehensive
his Prosecutors will affect a Delay therefore to prevent his being kept in
Prison until another Session thro' any delay of the said Prosecutors

Your Petr. most humbly Prays that at this Session
he may be tryed Bailed or Discharged for that
your Petr. may be entirely ruined for want of his
Witnesses at an Ensuing Sessions.

And your Petr. shall ever Pray Etc.
