Mary Paed the prosecutrix maketh Oath that after this Dept. had him
ill for a fortnight under the care of a Surgeon by reason of the Assault hurts and
bruises she received from the Defendant and of which the Defendt. hath been
convict and before she was well recovered that is to say on or about the Nineth
day of May last she was taken up by a Constable on a Warrant granted by Sr
William Billers< no role > on the Defts. Complaint for Assaulting and beating her of which
she had made Oath tho' in truth this Dept. never did Assault or beat her at all
and it being late in the Evening when she was taken up by the Constable she
was put into Woodstreet Counter and kept there all Night And the next day
She was carryed before Sir William Billers< no role > and obliged with two otherpast
Persons to enter into a Recognizance for her Appearance at the then next
Sessions of the Peace at Guildhall when and where this Dept. accordingly
appeared and there being as prosecution this Depont. withdrew her said
Recognizance And this Dept. further maketh Oaths that be reason of the Cold
she reced by lying in the Counter and being hurry'd about on the Defendts.
Warrant as aforesaid she had a Relapse and continued ill and was obliged to have
One Mrs. Roberts a Nurse for a whole Week afterwards And these Dept. further
Maketh Oath that the several sumes of money in the Account hereunto
annexed were really and truly paid laid out and expended by this Dept. or for
her at her request for the several Purposes and on the several Occasions in the
said Account particularly charged amounting in the Whole to the Sum
of Six pounds two Shillings and one penny And this Dept. continued in so
ill a Condition for the Space of Eleven Weeks after the said Assault by reason
thereof and of her said Impresonment that she could not Work at her business of
Cappmaking And for the last Eight Weeks of that time boarded with Mrs
with whom she lodged at the rate of five shillings a Week wch comes to forty shillings And for wth she
Hyde hitherto hath had orded it for the sum Mrs Hydes And this Depont. further maketh Oath that at her business of Cap
making she of ten times earned Eight Shillings a Week but never less then
Six shillings a Week which for Eleven Weeks she computes to amount to three pounds
Six shillings a Week which said Forty shillings and three pounds Six shillings being added
to the said sum of Six pounds two shillings and one penny will amount to
