The Case of Francis Gery< no role > yor. late Keeper of New Prison Who
Humbly layes before you the hardshipps together with the Great
Losses he lyes under in takeing upon him the said Office as also the
great Expense he hath been at Since ye Death of Capt: Jones to the
Value of 400d in being Candidate for the Place of Keeper by
Examining Witnesses and Mr: Berman's bringing a Certiorari and
other Contempts of this Court against yor: Orders to the Sume of 150d
5s 9d in Keeping Possion of the said Prison And I have turned out
as many poore prisoners in this one yeare & 9 Monthes as Comes to 170d
which hath beene kept by me at my Charge otherwise must have
Starved which doth appeare by Notes under their hands ready to
be produc'd to this Honoble: Court there fore I most Humbly pray this
Honoble: Bench to take it into their Just Consideration that as I have
been mercifull to poore distres'd prisors: yor: Worships will be pleasd to
show the same favour to me in the repaymt: of these my Disbursements
