Upon reading the humble peticon & appeale of John Lowe< no role > exhibited unto this Court settingforth that by
Order dated the first day of April in the yeare of our
Lord one thousand seven hundred & eighteen under
the hands & seales of Thomas Rand< no role > & Isaac Tillard< no role >
Esqrs . two of his Maties. Justices of the peace for this County
(Quor unus) the Petr. was adjudged the putative Father
of a Female bastard child lately borne in the parish
of St. Mary Islington in this County of the body of
Jane Benskin< no role > of the same parish Singlewoman , And
that the Petr. conceiveth himselfe aggrieved by the
said Order of the said two Justices, and appealeth
against the same to this Court, And that the Petr. was
not untill very lately served with a coppy of the said
Order of adjudicacon, And that the said notice is soe
very short that the Petr. is not able to gett his witnesses
ready to try the said appeale this sessions,It was
therefore prayed by the petr.Forasmuch as it
appeareth to this Court that the Petr. cannot be
prepared to prosecute his said appeale at this
present sessions, It is at his request Ordered by this
Court that the benefit of the said appeale be saved
unto the Petr. and that the hearing & determining
thereof be adjorned, untill the next Generall Quarter
Sessions of the peace to be held for this County, And that
the Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor of the said
