and the annext receipt for St. Pancras as is eppressly so and it appear<lb></lb>
also by the Originall Warrants annexed that warrants were filled up<lb></lb>
by the Clerk to the Lieutenancy and signed and sealed by three<lb></lb>
Deputy Lieutenants and issued into the parishes of St. Margaret<lb></lb>
Westmr and St. Giles in the Fields without any previous Order of the<lb></lb>
Board to justify the same, The Clerk being examined hereupon<lb></lb>
alledged that the Messenger had altered the warrants after they were<lb></lb>
delivered. The Messenger as firmly denied it, So that your Committee<lb></lb>
must leave it to be decided by this Court observing only that between<lb></lb>
the two the parishes have been drawn in to pay a years rate in the<lb></lb>
wrong, Your Committee therefore thought it necessary to require of <lb></lb>
the Treasurer of the Trophy money to give them an account of what<lb></lb>
money he had reced as Treasurer who after much pressing was at las<obscured></obscured>
<lb></lb>
prevailed upon to send them the annext account which confirmed<lb></lb>
their suspicion for he there charges himself to have reced for the<lb></lb>
year 1720 the Sum of £127:18s:7d: and for the year 1721 the Sum of <lb></lb>
£144:13s:6½d Now if by the years 1720 and 1721 is to be understood the <lb></lb>
years begining at <rs type="date" id="LMSMPS50208_date119">Midsummer 1720</rs>

and <rs type="date" id="LMSMPS50208_date120">Midsummer 1721</rs>

first Sum of £127:18s:7d: was unwarrantably reced, if by the years 172<obscured></obscured>

then the last sum of £144:13s:6½d was unwarrantably<lb></lb>
reced, and one or other of them ought to be charged to his Debet which<lb></lb>
is not done in his account brought to be passed by this Court. The<lb></lb>
Tresurer being sumoned to solve this difficulty appeared and told<lb></lb>
your Committee that by the year 1721 in his account was meant<lb></lb>
the year ending <rs type="date" id="LMSMPS50208_date123">Midsummer 1722</rs>

and said the mistake was<lb></lb>
occasioned by the Collectors themselves who desiring receipts for<lb></lb>
the year 1721 he (not having notice that no Trophy money was<lb></lb>
ordered to be assessed that year) gave them receipts accordingly.<lb></lb>
Which was a gross neglect in those who should have appriz'd him<lb></lb>
thereof and has made it difficult for your Committee to direct h<obscured></obscured>

the several parishes who have paid their money upon such<obscured></obscured>
<lb></lb>
receipts shall be made sensible that nothing is due from them for<lb></lb>
any time before <rs type="date" id="LMSMPS50208_date124">Midsummer 1722</rs>
