In Obedience to an Order We whose Hands are here unto set being a
Quorum appointed by the said Order have Inspection into Wr Higgs the Treasurers
2d. Account of his receipts & Disbursments of the County Ratemade in
February Sessions 1747 And your Committee do find that by the fist Account Audited
January 12 th. last by Mary Teshmaker< no role > Samuel Tatem< no role > and pierse Galliard< no role > Esqr .

23 d. 1747 was £69=10s=11d And by the deficiencies of that Account which the said
Higgs had reced and brought into the Account Audited in January last amounted to
£72.14s.0d And the last County Rate made for £1200. amounting the whole to
£1342.4s.11d And that the said Higgs had disbursed there out with the deficiencies
in that last Account the sum of £1060.9s.1d. And there remained in the said Higgs [..]
Hands the Sum of £281=15s=10d which the said Higgs has brought into this second
Account now Audited by us with the deficiencies of thelastAccount Audited then
amounting to the sum of £307.10s.9d. And which two last mentioned sums [..]
making together the sum of £509.14s.7d. which is the sum of man [..]
that the said Mr. Higgs Hands now charged with upon Account of his Receipts of the
last County Rate made in February 1747 And it appears to us that he has paid
out of the same the sum of £544=19s=0d And that there now remains in the said
Higgs Hands the sum of £44=15s=7d And your Committee are of Opinion that a
County Rate should Forth with be made to answer the ends & purposes of the
Emergencies of this County All which We humbly Submit etc Dated this Sixth
day of April 1749 .
