Informations of Witnesses taken this Fifteenth day of
March 1764 at the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields
within the Liberty of Westeminster in the County of
Middlesex , on an Inguisition taken on View of the
Body of Patrick Smith< no role > a Chairman , lying Dead
in the said Parish Liberty and County.

Francis Sheridan< no role > a Lodger at the Sign of the Adam and
Eve in Broad St. Giles Chairman, on his Oath saith, that
on Monday Morning last about three O' Clock Deponent
being engaged to carry a Chair with Patrick Dogan< no role > 's Parter Nicholas Macguire< no role >
another Chairman, and standing in Russel Street
near Covent Garden by the Chair, a Gentleman
who Deponent Knew not, came up and called, Chair
Deponent Says that he immediatly pulled his Chair
for the Gentleman to go into, Says that Nicholas
Maccabe
< no role > another Chairman that stood there took hold
of the Gentleman and endeavoured to put him into his
said, Nicholas Maccabe< no role > 's Chair, but the Gentleman
refused, and went into Deponent's Chair, Says that
said Maccabe endeavoured to get Deponent from his
Chair, saying that he would carry the Chair in Deponent
stead, but Deponent did carry the Gentleman to the
Crown and Anchor in the Stand, and returned
with the Chair immediately into Russell Street, Says
that said Nicholas Maccabe< no role > came upto him there and gave
him same ill language and soon after gave Dept. a
blow on his head, which Deponent returned, and
they fought in the Street some time, Deponent says
that he then told Nicholas Maccabe< no role > that he would fight
no more at that time, but that he would fight said Maccabe
the next day, in Mr. Brown's House at the Anchor in
Rupel Street, or any other Place, to which said Maccabe
agreed, and both promised to meet at Mr. Brown's
between twelve and one O' Clock on Monday (the same
day) and then Deponent went home, Says that
Patrick Smith< no role > the Deced came into Deponent Lodging
