to Prosecute one

for a Misdemeanour inatJuly Sessions last for
Defrauding this Deponent of One Guinea in Gold and a
Silver Watch that this Deponent being Ignorant of the
Practice of this Court and being Illeterate he was Advised
by his master Mr. Spencer of Smithfield
Horsedealer that
it was of no Signification his not Appearing against him
and that the first loss was the best it would be only running
this Deponent into more Expence in Law without receiving
any Benefit as this Deponent was a poor man or to that
Effect And this Deponent not knowing the Ill Consequence
that wouldnotAttend the same Did not Appear to prosecute
at the said Sessions and for no other reason whatsoever
And this Deponent further Says that he hath not for himself
or any other personwhosoeverwhomsoever on his behalf directly or
Indirectly by his privity knowledge or Consent received any
Money or other Gratuity or Reward whatsoever in order to let
the said Defondant Escape without punishment but through
the Perswasion of his Master as aforesaid and with no other
intent whatsoever
