Middlesex


At the General Quarter Session
of the Peace of our Lord the King holden for the
the County of Middlesex (by Adjournment at Hicks
Hall in Saint John street on Thursday the Twenty
First day of October in the Thirteenth year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third King
of Great Britain In Before Sir John Hawkins< no role > Knight
Charles Deed Benjamin Cowley< no role > John Spencer Colepeper< no role >
Esquires lord other their Fellows Justices of our said
Lord the King assigned to keep the Peace in the said
County and also to hear and determine divers Felonies
Trespasses and other Misdemeanors Committed in
the same County.

Whereas the Overseers of the Poor of the Liberty of the Rolls in the said County
of Middlesex Have at this present Session Exhibited their petition and Appeal
setting forth That by virtue of a Pass Warrant or order under the hands and
seals of John Walford< no role > and Cadwallader Coker< no role > Esqures Two of his Majesty's
Justices of the Peace for the County of Middlesex (one whereof being of the Quorum)
bearing date the 9th. day of Septr. 1773 Eliz Wallis< no role > Widow of Brackstone Wallis< no role >
deceased was removed and conveyed from the Parish of Saint Luke in the
County of Middlesex to the Liberty of the Rolls in the said County as the place of
her last legal settlement Whereby the Petitioners thought themselves aggreved
Now upon hearing of the said Appeal one what hath been alledged on other
side by therespectiveChurchwardens and respective Overseers their Counsel and Witnesses
in and concerning the Premises It is Ordered that the said Appeal be and
the same is hereby allowed and the said Pass Warrant or Order of the said
Two Justices is hereby vacated and set aside And it is further ordered
that the Overseers of the Poor of the Rolls do forth with convey and
deliver back the said Eliz Wallis (together with a copy of this Order) unto the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Luke
or to some or one of them who are hereby required to receive and provide for
the said Eliz Wallis until they can free themselves from the Charge thereof
by due Course of Law. And it is also further Ordered that the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Luke
do forth with payer cause to be paid unto the Overseers of the Poor of the Liberty
of the Rolls the Sum of Fifteen Shillings for their charges and expences in
Relieving and maintaining the said Eliz Wallis since hered removal
