Gentleman
Maketh oath and saith That he this deponent
became Bail for the above named defendants appearance
to Prosecute his Traverse with Effect to the Indictment preferred
against him by the above named Prosecutor, And this deponent
had every reason to believe the said defendant had prosecuted
his Traverse with Effect to the said Indictment untill the
Receipt of a Letter from the Clerk of the peace
for the County
of Middlesex
acquainting him to the Contrary, And this
Deponent Saith that he hath since he received the said
Letter made Enquiry after the said defendant to know
the reason why he had not prosecuted his said Traverse
and Could not find him But this Deponent is since
Informed and which Information this Dept. verily believes
to be true That the reason was he the Defendant
being Captain in the One Hundred and thirteenth
Regiment of foot which is now Quartered in Ireland
that the said Defendant was [..] to the last
September Sessions Ordered by the Commanding officer
to Join the said Regiment which he accordingly
did and is not Since returned And this Deponent
