[..] on of Mary Hale< no role > of No. 62 Kingsland
Road Shoreditch in the said County Spinster and
Ann Silvester< no role > of the same Place Widow Taken on Oath
before me one of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace in
and for the said County this 18th January 1799.

The said Mary Hale< no role > saith That on the Twenty Second
day of December last the Prisoner Peter Povey< no role > called at
her Mother's House (Elizabeth Hale< no role > ) in Kingsland Road
aforesaid and informed her Mother that her Son John Hale< no role >
who was a Sailor on board the Argo Frizate had run away
from his Ship and that he know where he was to be found
and he told her [..] this Informant that her Brother
had out the Long Boat from her Moorings and scuttled her
[..] that it was an hanging Matter that he
[..] Informant to go withwithhim and that
[..] her Brother he led this Informant
[..] lastatto a Public House at
[..] where he left her about ten
[..] ith a Bill as for her Brother
[..] ting to two Pounds two shillings
[..] not having enough to pay
[..] Persuaded her to give him some taken
and he would run back to her mother, she gave him
a Curions Shilling, and when she returned home she
found it was all an imposition

The said Ann Silvester< no role > saith That she was with
the said Elizabeth Hale< no role > when the Prisoner came with
the Shilling as a taken from thethesaid Mary Hale< no role >
and in Consequence of the Prisoners representation of
the said Elizabeth Hale< no role > to gave him three halg guineas
a seven shillings Piece are half Crown one shillings and
one Six Pence for the Payment as she supposed of the
Bill for her Son.
