Misdemeanor

Examination taken before Patrick Colgwhon< no role >
and John Marriot< no role > Esquires two of his Majesty's
Justices of the Peace presiding at the Manner
Police Office

Elizabeth Durham< no role > on her oath saith That she lived
Servant with Mr. Barnes at the Blue Mariand Magpie in
Saint Catherine says she recollet John Bigg< no role > an Apprentice
to Mr Jenkins bringing carver to her Master house twice whom
he delivered to Mr Barnes she did not hear any thing pass
between Biggs and her Master or questions asked on either side
about the Canvas But saw her Master pay Biggs some money
at the same time but don't know how much-Says that
about Seven or Eight Months back she repeatedly asked Biggs
to Bring her a piece of Canvas to make an Apron with for
which she thinks she paid him one Shilling and that she
was led to ask him for it from having seen Biggs being Canvas
to her Master a Little time before she asked himsays that
the only two times she Biggs bring Canvas to her Master
was about Seven or Eight months back the first time and about
Four or Five Months back the last timeSaysthatit was the
first time that she saw her Master give Biggs money after
he delivered the Canvasthe Second time she did not see any
Money Paid but saw one West a Labour the same day ask
her Master if any thing was left for himshe Supposed at
the time that he meant the CanvasBiggs had left but
did not see him receive it or hear any thing more about it
