Informations taken this Thirteeth
day of March 1786 at the Parish of St
Martin in the fields within the
liberty of Westmr in the county of Middlesex
upon an Inquisition touching the
Death of Michael Clarkson< no role > lying
dead in the said

Joseph Kingstone< no role > a Lodger in the Devilling
House of the late Michael Clarkson< no role > the
Deced in new Street in the Parish of St. Martin
in the Fields on his Oath saith That he
has lodged with the Deced nine or ten
Years and generally saw the Deced every
Day and also the Deced last night in
his Taproom, says that being an early
Man Dept about half past Six o'Clock
this morning came down stairs and
seeing the Kely in the Taproom Door
he pleaded the Door but found no Person
here That he went up stairs and
callled Thomas the Waiter who was
as sleep and where he awoke to his Mistress
upon which dept went down stairs
again and on opening the Yard Door
Dept observed one of the Deced's Feet
at the top on the outside of a water
Tub in the Yard which greatly
appeared the Deced who immmedialty
alarmed the Family, who came there
had saw the deced in the Water Tub.
Says that some of the neighbours come
there and pulled the water Tub (being
an old Butt) down and not the Deced
out of the but who appeared to be dead
but deced did not their touch him
and Dept. believes that the Deced Drowned
himself by put hole hours If into the water
Butt Wheels had Water on it. says that
the Deced has been Disordered in his mind
at times for one Year and an half last
