Informations taken this Twenty fifth
day of January 1788 at the Parish of
St. John thee Evangelist within the Liberty
of Westmr . in the County of Midsex upon
an Inquisition touching the death of
William Warton< no role > lying dead in the
said Parish Liberty and County.

Garvas Sutton< no role > of Market Street in the Parish
of St. John the Evangelist Westmr Sawyer on his
Oath saith That about a Quarter after Seven
o'Clock this Morning Dept. and Mr, Hawley were
coming down Mill Bank, Hawley saw the Deced
floating down the River Thames about fourteen
feet from the Shore, Says that Hawley took
off his Shoes & Stockings went into the River
got hold of the Deced's Cloaths fulled him
near the Shore and Dept, assistant to get him
to the Shore in the Parish of St. John the Evangt.Margaret
Westmr . Says that Deced was Lead appeared
to have been long Drowned, but Dept.
observed no Marks of violence upon the
Deced.

Christopher Sherlock< no role > a Lodger at the
Sign of the Chequer in Abingdon Street Westmr.
on hid Oath saith, That one Afternoon about
four o'Clock, Since Christmas as Dept. thought
Dept. was in Mr. Ghents Granary and saw
a Man in the River Thames opposite to Mr.
Hubert's Wharf on Mill Bank in said Parish
of St. John the Evagelist , but Dept. does not know
that it was the Deced, nor how he came into
the Water, That the Man endeavoured to
