Informations taken this Eleventh
day of February 1788 at the Parish
of St. Margaret within the Liberty of
Westmr . in the County of Midsex upon
an Inquisition touching the death of
John Hook< no role > lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty & County.

George Gosling< no role > a Soldier in the First Regmt.
of Gurgds on his, Oath saith That John Hook< no role >
the Deced (who was likewise a Soldier in the
same Regiment) has been ill and in the
Sick Ward in the Hospital belonging to
the said Regun his in Petty France Westmr about a Week, Says
that he was ordered to attend the Sixth
People in the Sick ward last Night, Says
that the Deced had a Fever and about
Ten o'Clock last Night appeared to be
Delirious, That, he continued so until
about three o'Clock this Morning when
he grew worse and got out of Bed
saying that his time was come and he
must go, Says that he got the Deced into
Bed again, That the Deced took his
Breeches from the Head of the Bed &
gave Dept. his Knce Buckles and offered
to give Dept. a Guinea and three Shillings
to let him go, and desired to see Richd
Randal another Soldier before he went
and Randal was fetched, but Deced did
not speak to him, nor to any other Person
Says that being afraid, that Deced would
get up, having put, his Nash out on Dept. got Assistance to strap the
Deced in Bed, Says that Deced was then
Quiet and Dept. and Richard Randal< no role > and
Thomas Drummer Butler< no role > stood by the Fire near the
Deced's Bed, when in about three Minutes
