Collector for the Chelsea Water Company or his Oath says that
Yesterday about 5 o'Clock in the Morning W. Mordaunt [..]
Taylor in Park and a Journeyman Carpenter called time up
and said there was a Mans Hat floating in the Bason
in Hyde Park
and they supposed a Man Might be Drowned
Deponent immediately got a Drag and Went and in about
half on hour he brought the Body up the Dewareds hands
were chenched togetherthere were form in his Pockets a
Knife two Gimblets and a small Book in which Deponent
saw nothing but about one for Sone Eyesthe Deceased appeard
to be quite Dead, to that it was thought necessary to send
for any Surgeon or other Medical Gentleman
to endeavour
by the Methods usually taken to try restore Drowned
person
