An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the ninth day of February in the thirty second
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great-Britain, France, and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas
Prickard
< no role > , Gentleman , Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on
View of the Body of William Johnson< no role > an Infant then and there lying dead , upon

and William Storey< no role > good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said William Johnson< no role > came to
h is Death, do upon their Oath say , That the said William Johnson< no role > the Infant
Aged about Four Years on the Seventh day of February in the year aforesaid being
in a Back Room in his Fathers dwelling House situate in Chandos street in the Parish
aforesaid within the Liberty and County aforesaid and that a Tin Saucefan full of
hot water was then upon the Fire in the said Room and that the said William
Johnson
< no role > the Infant then sitting before the Fire It so happened that the said William
Johnson
< no role > fell down upon the [..] and thew down the said [..] and the hot water
therein Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune falling upon the said William Johnson< no role >
then lying upon the Hearth by means whereof the said William Johnson< no role > was then and there
violently scalded upon the Loins Back and Shoulders of which said violent and mortal
cealding he the said William Johnson< no role > from the said Seventh day of February in the
Year aforesaid until the Eighth day of the same Month at the Parish Liberty and County
aforesaid did languish and live on which said Eighth day of February in the Year aforesaid
he the said William Johnson< no role > of the mortal scalding aforesaid did die And so the Jurors
aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say that the said William Johnson< no role > in manner and
by the means aforesaid accidentally Casually and by Misfortune came to his Death and not otherwise

In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said William Payne< no role >
Foreman of the said Jurors on the behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows in their
presence have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals the Day Year and place
abovementioned
