Mary Patey< no role > Aged about 22 Years on her Oath Says she never
was Married nor ever Rented a House paid Taxes was an
Apprentice or ever lived a hired Yearly Servt. for one Year Says
her father served Seven Years Apprentiship with one Mr. Thacker
a Butcher in Clare Markett and after he was out of his said
Apprentiship he Rented and lived in a House in the Parish
of St. Clement Danes as her said Father as often Informed
her and which Information she verily believes to be True
And further upon her Voluntary Oath says she is Pregnant with
Child or Children which is or are likely to be born a Bastard
or Bastards to become Chargeable to the said Parish of St.
Clement Danes She being poor and unable to maintain the same
when born says, that one John Cartwright Lewis< no role > a 3d Male on boar [..]
ye. Dorothy Captain John Crayton< no role > Commander is the Father of
the said Bastard Child he having had Carnal Knowledge of
her Body some time the latter End of August last past & at
sevl. different times afterwards at one of which times he got
her with Child of the Child or Children of which she is now
Pregnant as aforesaid and that the said John Cartwright
Lewis and no other person is the real and true Father
thereof.
