Whereas the Inhabitants of New Inn, Clements Inn, and
Lyons Inn, and that part of Lincolns Inn which lies within
this parish pretend that they are not liable to be rated or assessed
to the relief and maintenance of the poor thereof, and therefore they
and divorse other persons Inhabitants of this Parish refuse
and neglect to pay such rates, or to contribute towards the
relief and maintenance of the poor, and as it is apprehended.
that they are, not withstanding liable to pay such rates and
ought to pay the same It is at this Vestry therefore

Resolved and Agreed for the future, that if any person
who shall be duly rated and assessed to the poor do [..] not on
due Application pay such rates and assessments as they shall
be at any time hereafter charged with, being legally made
and allowed by two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace
as the Law requires, and any Warrant or Warrants of distress
shall be made out and put in Execution and force against
such Offenders or Defaulters on a refusal or neglect to pay
such rate or assessments, the Justices of the peace who shall
Grant or sign such Warrant or Warrants and the Overseers.
of the poor and all such other persons as shall attend or be
concerned in the Execution thereof and in Levying the same
on the Goods and Chattles or person or persons of such Defaulter
or Defaulters shall be fully indemnified and saved harmless
by this parish from all Damages, Costs, and Charges that
may happen to, or fall on them on Account of Granting and
signing any such Warrant or Warrants or for any Act or Deed
they or any of them shall lawfully do in levying and executing
the same or any other thing that they shall Do to Obtain
payment of or for the recovering such rates or assessments or
any of them so that such Justices of the peace, Overseers of the
poor or any other persons so to be concerned or employed
therein shall not be Sufferers or damnified thereby but shall
be reimbursed by this Parish all such expences Damages
and Costs as they all and every of them shall be put unto on
that account Provided Always that no such Distress
shall be made without previously advising with and
