Examination Text | Lilly Baker aged 65 years and upwards destitute of lodging upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Baker (who died about five years ago as she this Examinant hath been informed and verily believes, he her said husband being gone from her) to whom she was married at the Fleet upwards of 30 years ago, that her said husband was a Baker by trade and was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Mr Jullion a Baker in White Hart Court in Castle Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served all his time out as she this Examinant has been informed by her said husband, that her said husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together after the expiration of his said apprenticeship to this Examinant's knowledge, nor hath she this Examinant since the death of her said husband. Sworn the eighth day of December 1767 before Peter Planck. |
