To William Forsyth< no role > a Constable of
the Parish of Saint Mary's Aldermanbury and to all
Constable and others his Majesty's officers of the peace
for the said City of London and to the
Porters of Bridewell Hospital London [..]

These are in his Majesty's Name to Command you and every of you
the said Constables forthwith Safely to Convey and deliver into the
Custody of the said Porter of Bridewell London the Body of
Richard Hughes< no role > being charged before me one of his
Majestys Justices of the peace in and for the said City
by the Oath of Richard Symes< no role > with being a Rogue and
Vagabond for [..] having after the passing of a certain Act of
Parliament Intitled "an Act to render more effectual the Laws now in
being for suppressing lawful Lotteries to wit on the Thirteenth
Day of MarchIn the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred
and Eighty Eight [..] at No. 16 Ludgate Hill [..]
in the said Cityin the said Citytaken and received
of and from said Richard Symes< no role > the Sum of Four Shillings
and Eight pence of lawful Money of Great Britain and in Consideration
thereof Then and there promising and agreeing to repay the said Richard
Symesthe Sum of Two pounds twelve Shillings and six pence
of like lawful money if a certain Ticket No. 20.888
should be drawn unfortunate on the Twenty Eighth
Day of drawing of the present English State Lottery Contrary to
the Form of the Act of Parliament in such Case made and
provided And therefore I do adjudge the said Richard Hughes< no role > to be a Rogue Vagabond which Said Richard Hughes< no role > you the said
Porteran hereby required to receive and him in
your Custody Safely to keep until the next General Quarter Session
of the peace to be holden at the Guildhall
in and for the said City of London to be further dealt with
according to Law and for your so doing this shall be to you and
each of you a Sufficient Warrant Given under my Hand
and Seal this Fourteenth Day of March One thousand
Seven hundred and Eighty Eight
