Mr Fisher the Vestry Clerk informed this Vestry that he had delivered
to Jeremiah Behtham< no role > Esquire Register of Sir John Cass< no role > 's Charity
and one of the Trustees thereof a copy of the Minutes and Resolutions
of the Vestry held on Thursday the 21st day of March last and in
Return had received from the said Mr Bentham a Copy of the
Resolution of the Trustees of the said Charity at a Board or
Meeting held on Wednesday the 27th day of March last at the School
House in Aldgate Church Row which Copy of the Resolution
was now read and is as follows (vizt.)

"Resolved that it is the unamious Opinion of this Board
"that it is the indispensible Duty of the Trustees on a Vacancy
"of Master and Mistress of this School to examine into the
"Characters and Qualifications of all such Persons as may
"offer themselves for this service and to recommend without
"Favour or Affection to any, two Persons who appear to them
"most fit so important a Trust And therefore can make
"no other Return.

Whereupon the Vestry proceeded to the choice of a Schoolmaster
and School mistress accordingly and Mr James Adams< no role > and
Sarah< no role > his Wife and Mr Benjamin Bishop< no role > and Elizabeth< no role >
his wife being respectively put up for School Master and
School Mistress of the said School the Election fell on the
said Benjamin Bishop< no role > and Elizabeth< no role > his wife who were
declared duly elected accordingly.

Agreed and Ordered that Mr Fisher the Vestry Clerk
Do on Behalf of this Vestry Certify to the said Trustees (by
delivering to the said Mr Benthama Copy of the above
Minute of the Election under his Hand) That this
Vestry have chosen and appointed the said Benjamin
Bishop
< no role > to be School Master of the said Charity Schools
and that they have chosen and appointed the said
Elizabeth Bishop< no role > the Wife of the said Benjamin
Bishop
< no role > to be School Mistress of the Girls School belonging
to the said charity.
