An Inquisition indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at London that is to say, as the Parish of Saint Andrew Holborn
in the Ward of Farringdon without in London aforesaid on the fourth day of August in the twenty eight year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defence of the Faith and so forthbefore Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City of London and
Borough of Southwark on view of the Body of Elizabeth Serjeant< no role > Spinster now here lying dead by the oath of William Davis< no role > , William Ayres< no role > ,
Alexander Phillips< no role > , Robert Goddard< no role > , Charles Chesterman< no role > , William Kirby< no role > , John Parbuck< no role > , George Cooper< no role > , George Roberts< no role > , Ralph Quested,
Thomas Reeves< no role > , Thomas Parry< no role > , John Sloman< no role > and Henry Ladyman< no role > good and lawful men of the City of London aforesaid who being now here duly
chosen sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when how and in what manner the said Elizabeth Serjeant< no role > came to her death say upon
their Oath that the said Elizabeth Serjeant on the first day of August in the twenty eighth year aforesaid as the Parish and Ward aforesaid in London
aforesaid being in a certain Bed Chamber in the Dwelling house of oneDunn there situated and then and there being a sleep it so happened
that on the same day and year aforesaid the paid Dwellinghouse of the said Dunn accidentally casually and by misfortune took fire and was
consumed by reason whereof and from the make and flames arising from the said fire she the said Elizabeth Serjeant< no role > was then and there suffocated and
barned Of which said suffocation and burning she the said Elizabeth Serjeant then and there died And to the Jurors aforesaid upon their oath aforesaid
do say that the said Elizabeth Serjeant in manner and by the means aforesaid was accidentally casually and by misfortune burned and killed
In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said William David< no role > the Foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows
in their presence have to this Inguisition set their hands and seals the day and year and place first above written
