An Inquisition indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the Parish of Saint John within the
Borough of Southwark in the County of Surrey on the sixteenth day of February in the twenty ninth year of the reign of our
Sovereign Lord George the third of the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith Etc before Thomas
Shelton Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark on view of the body of Ezekiah Davies< no role >
now here lying dead by the oath of Alexander Lyall< no role > , Thomas Blackstone< no role > , William Phillips< no role > , Charles Shan< no role > , John Olwer< no role > , John Walley< no role > , Samuel
Alise, John Grinsted< no role > , David Keys< no role > , Paul Macphael< no role > , John Huddable< no role > and John Watts< no role > good and lawful men of the Borough of Southwark aforesaid in
the said County of Surrey who being now here duly chosen sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when how and in what manner the
said Ezekiah Davies< no role > came to his death say upon their oath that the said Ezekiah Davies< no role > on the Twelfth day of February in the year aforesaid
being a mariner of and belonging to and in and on board a certain ship or vessel called the Cambray lying on the River Thames in the Parish
aforesaid within the Borough aforesaid in the County aforesaid and then being in and upon the mainto psail yard of the said ship or vessel employed
in feeling the maintopsail of the said ship or vessel is so happened that the said Ezekiah Davies< no role > accidentally casually and by misfortune
fell from the said maintopsail yard of the said ship or vessel unto upon and against the Deck of the said ships By means whereof he the said Ezekiah
Davies did then and there receive divers mortal wounds and bruises in and upon the head face back sides arms legs and thighs of him the said
Ezekiah Davies< no role > Of which said mortal wounds and bruises he the said Ezakiah Davies< no role > did then and there die And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their
oath aforesaid do say that the said Ezekiah Davies< no role > in manner and by the means aforesaid casually and by misfortune was accidentally killed
In Witnesses whereof as well the said Coroner as the and Alexander Lyall the he foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows
in their presence have to this Inquisition set their hands and seals the day year and place first above written.
