An Inquisition indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the Parish of Saint Saviour within
the Borough of Southwark in the County of Surrey on the twenty fourth day of February in the twenty ninth year of the reign of our
Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Depender of the Faith Etc. before Thomas

< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark on view of the body of Edward
Standen now here lying dead by the oath of Robert Dolphin< no role > William Clark< no role > , William Bankes< no role > , Richard Hitchcock< no role > , Joseph Saunders< no role >
Edward Orme< no role > , John Brown< no role > , Bartholomew Tarn< no role > head, John Johnson< no role > , Edward Dickson< no role > , William Weaver< no role > , William Withers< no role > Jones, and Robert
Adams good< no role > and lawful men of the Borough of Southwark aforesaid in the said County of Surrey who being now here duly chosen
Sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when how and in what manner the said Edward Standen< no role > came to his
death say upon their oath that the said Edward Stander< no role > not being of sound mind memory and understanding but lunatic and
distracted on the twenty third day of February in the year aforesaid one end of a certain small piece of cord of the value of
one penny to and about the lathes of a certain Bed Head in the Chamber of a certain public Inn called the While Kart Inn there
situate and the other and of the said cord [..] and above his own Nick then and [..] did fix up and faster By means
whereof he the said Edward Handen< no role > did then and there hang strangle and suffocated himself of which said hanging strangling
and suffocation he the said edward Stander did then and there die and so the Jurors aforesaid upon their oath aforesaid do say
that the said Edward Stander< no role > not being of sound mind memory and understanding but lunatic and distracted in manner and
by the means aforesaid did hang and kill himself In Witnesses whereof as well the said Coroner as the said Robert Dolphin< no role >
the foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellow in their presence have to this Inquisition set
their hands and seals the day year and place first above written.
