Southwark

Informations of Witnesses of taken at
the Parish of Saint Saviour within the
Bow. of Southwark in the County of Surrey
the 24th. February 1789 on View of the body
of Edward Standen< no role > then lying dead.

Stephen King< no role > Stewart to Mr. Watson of Bankside
Southwark Cornfactor maketh oath that yesterday morning
between 8 & 9 o'Clock Dept being in the White Harr Inn the
Chambermaid came into the Room wherein Dept was and
Sayed Mr. Standen had Longed himself whereupon Dept went
to the room where the deced slopt & then found the deced Longing
by a small cord one end fastened about his Neck and the other
end about the lathes of the bed, that Dept end the rope, & let
the deced downthat the arms & legs of the deced were warn,
but he was dead; that Dept used his best endeavours to records
the dead.

Elizabeth Smith< no role > Chambermaid at the
White Hart Inn Southwark maketh Oath that the deced
has lodged at the above Inn about three Weeks; that on
Sunday night he went to bed & the next morng. he was found
LayingDept says undr. person slept in the same door but
he get up & went away at 5 in the morningDept Says that
