An Inquisition indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at London, that is
to say, at the Parish of Saint Bartholomew the less in the ward of Farringdon without in London
aforesaid on the first day of October in the thirtieth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third
by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith Etc before Thomas Shelton< no role >
Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark on view of the
[..] of Mary Burdon< no role > now here lying dead by the oath of Charles Dixon< no role > John Yeates< no role > John Harden< no role > John Gay< no role >
Robert Day< no role > Samuel Durant< no role > Samuel Davis< no role > William Allen< no role > John Evans< no role > John Beale< no role > John Goatee
Thomas Whitford< no role > and George Thomas< no role > good and lawful men of the City of London aforesaid who being now here
duly chosen sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when how and in what manner
[..] Mary Burdon< no role > came to her death say upon their oath that the said Mary Burdon< no role > on the thirtieth
day of September in the Year aforesaid being in the lodging room of her the said Mary Burdon< no role > on the first floor
of a certain house [..] in the parish of saint Giles without Cripplegate in the ward of Cripplegate without in
London aforesaid and there being a fire in a certain Grate in the said Lodging room it so happened that
the said dore [..] contained in the said Grate did then and there whilst she the said Mary Burdon< no role > was in
the said lodging room as aforesaid accidentally casually and by misfortune communicate to the said lodging room
and to the death's and wearing apparel of the said Mary Burdon< no role > And by said Mary Burdon< no role > being then and
there unable to extricate herself from and to extinguish the said fire so communicated to the said Lodging room
and Cloathes and wearing apparel of the said Mary Burdon< no role > she the said Mary Burdon< no role > by reason and means
thereof was then and there mortally burned in divers and very many parts of the Body of her the said Mary Burdon< no role >
Of which said mortal burning she the said Mary Burdon< no role > on the day and your last aforesaid at the said parish
of Saint Bartholomew the less in the said ward of Farringdon without in London aforesaid did die And so the
Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do Say that the said Mary Burdon< no role > in manner and by the means
aforesaid casually and by misfortune was accidentally burned and killed In Witness whereof as well the
said Coroner as the said Charles Dixon< no role > the foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his
fellows in their presence have to this Inquisition set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
