An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at London that is to
say at the Parish of Allhallows the less in the Ward of Dowgate in London aforesaid on the
Sixteenth day of March in the thirty fifth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the
Third by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King defender of the faith
and so forth before Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City
of London and Borough of Southwark on view of the body of John Rugh< no role > now here lying dead
by the oath of William Coe< no role > Edward Jones< no role > Peter Cathie< no role > Thomas Bell< no role > Christopher Mote< no role >
William Whaits< no role > William Williams< no role > Thomas Savill< no role > Thomas Shepherd< no role > Henry Dusty John
Leslie and George Rayne good and lawful men of the City of London aforesaid who being
now here duly chosen sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when
how and in what manner the said John Pugh< no role > came to his death say upon their oath
that the said John Pugh< no role > on the Fifteenth day of March in the Year aforesaid being in a
certain house situate in the Parish and Ward aforesaid in London aforesaid It so happened
that part of the said house accidentally casually and by misfortune fell in and upon
the said John Pugh< no role > by means whereof the said John Pugh< no role > did then and there receive
divers mortal wounds and bruises in and upon divers Parts of his body of which said
mortal wounds and bruises he the said John Pugh< no role > did then and there die
And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their oath aforesaid do say that the said John
Pugh in Manner and by the means aforesaid casually and by misfortune was
accidentally killed In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said William
Coe the foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his fellows in
their presence have to this Inquisition set their hands and Seals the day Year
and place first above written.
