at the parish of Saint Giles without Cripplegate
in the Ward of Cripplegate
without in London aforesaid on the
eighteenth day of March
in the thirty fifth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the
third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith
and so forth before

aforesaid who being now here
duly chosen sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when how and in what
manner the said

came to his death say upon their oath that the said John
Britton on the fifteenth day of Mach on the year aforesaid being ascending a certain
Ladder to go up into a certain loft over a certain Coachhouse in the yard of one

situate in the parish and Ward aforesaid It so happened that the said

accidentally casually and by misfortune fell from and off the said Ladder down to and
upon the stone pavement there by means whereof the said John Britten did then and
receive one mortal bruise in and upon one of the Temples of him the said

and also one other mortal bruise on one side of the face of him the said
John Britton< no role >
of which
said mortal bruises he the said

did then and there die And so the Jurors aforesaid
upon their oath aforesaid do say that the said

in manner and by the
means aforesaid accidentally casually and by misfortune same to his death and not
otherwise In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said

foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his fellows in their
presence have to this Inquisition set their hands and seals the day year and place
first abovewritten.
