Benjamin Scrivener

Benjamin Scrivener< no role > about five Years age to wit on
By order was removed from the Parish of St. James in Norwich
With his Two Children virt. Elizabeth< no role > aged Seventeen years and
Nathaniel< no role > aged Thirteen Years to the Parish of St. Mary
White Chapel being the place of the last legal Settlement of the said
Benjamin Scrivener and the Children as part of his Family the
said Children or either of them not having gained any Settlement.
of their own.

After that said Benjamin and his two Children had been in WhiteChapel
work house about two or three Weeks Elizabeth the Daughter went out
and got Work to double Worksted for Robert Wilks< no role > of Leadenhall Street
London Weaver in the Day time To be paid weekly for such day Work
or Labour And she hath continued in such daily Work ever since And
thereby she that wholly maintained and supported herself and
lodged in the said Parish of Whitechapel and acquired some Goods
to furnish her Lodging

Nathaniel the Son after having been about Six or Seven Weeks in
the Workhouse as above was bound apprentice in a Third Parish and
afterwards drowned

Benjamin the Father after having continued in White Chapel
Workhouse about one Quarter of a Year Likewise went to the said
Mr. Robert Wilks< no role > of Leadenhall Street and doubled Worsted for him
by the Day and turned the Mill and the Porter going away was
continued a while by the Week for about five or Six Weeks And then
his Master hired him by the Year And he continued with his Master
as a yearly Servant in Leadenhall Street above two Years And then
his Master removing into the said Parish of Bishopsgate He
there continued to live with his Master Six Months or upwards
and lodged with his Master during the said Time when by reason of
Infirmity and old age he left his Service
