Immorality and to the debauching and ruining
of Servants Apprentices and others and to the
disturbance of the Publick Peace by occasioning
Quarrells Tumults Riots and other Disorders,
and that to Justifye such their Proceedings they
keep great Numbers of Persons who pretend
to be Soldiers; in Order to prevent the Civil
Magistrates from apprehending and Punishing
the Severall Persons who use and exercise
such unlawfull Games. And by the great Resort
of Evil disposed Persons to such Places several
Persons have been Robbed in coming from
Hampsted to London to the great Terror and
damage of his Majestys good Subjects travelling
between Hampstead and London on their lawfull
Occasions For preventing of which Mischiefs
and Disorders for the future It is thought fit
and Ordered by this Court That the High Constable
of Holbourn Division in this County do forthwith
Issue out his Precepts to the Severall Petty
Constables and Head boroughs of the said Parish
of Hampstead requiring them forthwith to give
Publick Notice of this Order by fixing a Copy
or Copys thereof at the most Notorious Places of
the said Gameing Houses And for the better
preventing and Suppressing of the said Disorders
and of all Quarrells Riots Routs and other
Misdemeanours It is also recomended to the
several Justices of the Peace of the Dviv [..]
wherein the Town of Hampstead lies to Assemble
and meet together within their several districts
as often as there shall be occasion and to take
and use such lawfull means as may be most
effectuall for preventing any unlawfull Games
at the Places aforesaid or any Riots or Routs
that may be occasioned thereby and the said High
and Petty Constables and all other Peace Officers
are hereby required to be Aiding and Assisting to
