from ye time of his going away But ye. said Mrs. Negus further
say'd That she never knew any other Lodging or place of Aboad
that ye. said Bassett ever had Nor could direct these Deponts.
where else to inquire after him, But ye. Boy who had conducted
them to ye. said Mr. Negus's told them that ye. things which
ye. said Bassett took away from Mr. Negus's were carry'd to
a Corner house near Symond's Wharf in or near Southwark
Whither (on such Information) these Deponts. directly went
& found that ye. said Bassett had till, about a Month before
lodged some Weeks at ye. House of one William Black< no role > as he
himself told these deponts. But say'd he never had any manner,
of Acquaintance with, ye said Bassett before his comeing so
accidentally to lodge there Nor Knew any other of his Lodgings
or places of Aboad Or what ye. said Mrs. Negus Mr Lammas
& Mr. Black said to these Deponts. was to that or to ye like

himself) That they have not nor ever had any Acquaintance with
ye. said Henry Bassett< no role > Nor ( To their knowledge ) with, any of his
Friends or Acquaintance other than as aforesaid Nor (as these
Deponts. are well assured) hath ye. said Defendt. any greater or
other Acquaintance with him, Nor ever did nor do these deponts
know where or in what manner to inquire after him, than as aforesd
And this Depont. Joshna Sharp< no role > for himself saith That on ye said
sixteenth, Day of this instant August he this Deponts. went & was
in Company with ye. other Deponts. James Bradley< no role > & John Cooke< no role > ,
on their inquiring after ye. Sd Bassett as aforesd. & heard Such
Accounts given them, as are by them herein above sett for the Whereupon
this Deponts. Told them that he apprehended they could do no otherwise
or better that to cause Notices of Tryall of ye. said Indictmt to be left
for ye. said Henry Bassett< no role > as well at ye. said Mr. Negus's as at ye. said
Mr. Blacks & therefore by ye. Direction of ye other Deponts. this Deponts
did on ye. twenty second Day of this instant August leave a true Coppy
of ye. Notice hereunto annext at ye house of ye. said Mr. Negus with, a
Servant Maid there who said that neither her Master or Mistress were
at home but she knew ye said Bassett as having lodged there And afterwards
on ye same Day this Deponts. did leane another like Coppy of the said
Notice in ye. House of ye. said Mr. Black in, ye prsence of his wife and
others & this Depont. desired yt. ye. said Notices by him left might (if
possible) be delivered to ye. said Henry Bassett< no role >
