WHEREAS Complaint has been made unto us, two of
His Majesty's Justices of the Peace, in and for the
County of MIDDLESEX , (one whereof being of the
Quorum) by the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of
the Parish of ST. LUKE , in the Said County, That, Mary
Freeman< no role > the Widow of Thomas Freeman< no role >
deceased and her two Children Namely
Sarah< no role > aged about four years and Mary< no role >
aged about sixteen Months have
lately come into the said Parish, endeavouring to Settle there,
contrary to Law. And it appeareth unto us the said Justices,
and we do adjudge that they are likely to become charge-
able to the said Parish; and upon Examination of the said
Mary Freeman< no role > taken upon Oath,
it further appeareth unto us, and we do likewise adjudge,was
the Parish of St Stephen Walbrook in the
City of London
is the Place of the last legal Settlement of the said Mary
Freeman< no role > and her said two Children Namely
Sarah< no role > and Mary< no role >
These are therefore in His Majesty's Name to Charge and
Command you the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of
the said Parish of ST. LUKE , forthwith to remove and convey
the said Mary Freeman< no role > and here said two
Children Namely Sarah< no role > and Mary< no role >
from the said Parish of ST. LUKE , to the said Parish of
St Stephen Walbrook and deliver them to the
Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or to some
or one of them, who are hereby required to provide for them
according to Law. GIVEN-under our Hands and Seals, the
twenty Sixth Day of December 1785
