CIRCULAR,

Whitehall , 24th June 1797.

SIR,
HIS MAJESTY having been graciously pleased, in pursuance of an Address
of both Houses of Parliament, to give Directions for the more Speedy and
general Distribution of the Statutes according to certain Resolution of both
Houses to that Effect; you are hereby strictly enjoined and required, in Compli-
ance therewith, to preserve, for the Public Use, and transmit to your Successor
in Office, all Copies of Statutes which you shall receive from His Majesty's Printer
in virtue of your Office.

And your are hereby further required to signify to the Chairman of your next
Midsummer Quarter Sessions, His Majesty's Pleasure that the Justices of the
Peace should, at their next Michaelmas Quarter Sessions, make such Order as
they shall think sit for distributing the Copies allotted to the Resdient Acting
Justices of the Peace within their Jurisdiction, to the Intent that the said Copies
may be applied to the Use of their said Quarter Sessions, Petty Sessions, District
Meetings, and such other Uses as they may think most conducive to the Public
Service.
