to the Deced's Room with Dept. That Mr. Falkner
& Dept. lifted up the Deced and that Mr. Clinton cut
the Cord by which he was Hanging, but he was dead,
and Dept. verily believes that he Hanged himself
Says that the Deced for about three weeks last past
has been very Melancholy and low Spirited and
behaved in a very different manner from what
he used to do, Says that the Deced last Sunday
from Eleven o'Clock in the Morning until Eight in
the Evening Slept in his Bed, when Dept. with
some difficulty awoked him, That he afterwards
continued to Dore and did not speak until next
Morning, That he afterwards told Dept. that he
had taken some Opinion and drank some Brandy
in order to give him rest, not being able to sleep
at Nights, Says that the Deced and to complain of his Head
and particularly since that time, Says that the
Deced appeared to be very uneasy, and Dept.
believes that he was at times Disordered in his
Mind.

James Dewer< no role > of St. Alban Street Surgeon on his
Oath saith, That on Wednesday last was Sev Night
he was desired by Mr. Farguharson to go to the Deced
which he did, and found that the Deced had a Purging of Blood
and desired to be bled which Dept. did not think proper
to do, That the Deced called upon him the next
Morning, and after some Conversation shew'd Dept. his
left Arm with a Wound in it about three Inches
in length which Deced said he had given himself
with an old Razor, Says that he Dressed the Wound
and did not see the Deced afterwards until Saturday
when the Wound appeared to be healing, but the
Deced was much confined and would searce give
Dept. any Answer, and behaved very different
from what he used to do.
