Informations taken this Tenth
day of January 1788 at the Parish
of St. Margaret with in the Liberty
of Westmr . in the County of Midex
upon an Inquisition touching the
death of a Woman unknown lying dead
in the said Parish Liberty & County

John Jones< no role > Servant to Matthew
Wiggans
< no role > Esqr of James Street in the
Parish of St. Margaret Westmr . on his
Oath saith, That about half after Seven
this Morning when he was opening
the Parlour Window a Woman passing
by called to Dept. saying that a woman
lay asleep at the Door Says that he went
to her and felt her face which was
Cold and Dept. thought that the woman
was dead, Says that assoon as Mr. Wiggins
came down Stairs he ordered the Woman
to be taken into the House and sent
for a Surgeon who came immediately
and desired She might be put unto
Bed and rubbed her Breast, with
Flannels and endeavoured to restore
her to Life for three Quarters of an hour
but without effect, the Deced being dead
Says that there was a Bruise upon
the left side of Deced's face. Says that
he heard no Noise or Disturbance
this Morning before he found the Deced
dead at the Door and believes that
She died in a natural way.
