Christopher Merritt< no role > of Hog Land alias
brown Street Victualler being
sworn deposeth that yesterday Evening
between 4 or 5 o'Clock the deceased was
coming along crown Street aforesaid
where the [..] of this Deponents
Cellar Door was open, he fell down
into the Cellar and a Person who was
there caught him in his Arms and
this Deponent conducted him to the
Cellar Stairs, when he sound quite
able to go up them without help
the he appeared to be a little in Group
and therefore this Deponent [..]
[..] went up
first to attend the business of [..] and left the deceased at the
bottom to follow him and about a
minute afterwards this Deponent
hunt some People in the house say
that some body had fallen the Cellar
Stairs, upon which he immediately
what down Stairs and assisted in bringing
bringing up the deceased who then appeared
to be quite insensible, and they conveyed
him directly to the Workhouse

did not appear to be any Signs of life
