Ann Simpson< no role > Aged upwards of Eighteen Years
on her Oath Says she never was married Rented House
or paid Taxes Says she was bound out an Apprentice by the
Govrs. & Guardians of the Foundling Hospital to one Mr.
Boulton a Hair Dresser in the Strand untill she shod. Attain
her Age of 21 Years or Day of Marriage and lived with her sd.
Master upwards of half a Year and was afterwards Assigned
Over to one Mr. Mackfarlane a Bookbinder in Ship Yard in
the parish of St. Clement Danes and has lived with him
under such Assignment for about Seven Years and hath never
gained any other Subsequent Settlement And further upon
her Voluntary Oath Says she is pregnant with Child or
Children which is or are likely to be born a Bastard or
Bastards and to become Chargable to the said Parish she
being poor and unable to maintain the same when born
Says that One William Lewis< no role > a Hair Dresser who lodges
in her said Masters House is the Father thereof he having
had Carnal knowledge of her Body sometime in June or
July last in her said Masters House but the Particular Month or days she does not
now remember and at sevl. different times afterwards at
one of which times he got her with Child of the Child or
Children of which she is now pregnant as aforesaid and
that the said William Lewis< no role > is the real and true Father
thereof.
