Examination TextMary Gantlett Aged Twenty nine years lodging at Mrs. Bayles in Chapel Court in the parish of St. Martin in the fields within the liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex upon her Oath saith that she is the Widow of William Gantlett who Died about Three Years & a half ago & to whom she was Married at the Parish Church of Saint Mary the Virgin in the Town & Port of Dover in the County of Kent about 5 Years since. That since her said late Husbands decease she having no Child living was a Yearly hired servant to Mr. Shaw in long Acre for the Space of Six Months that her said Master then quitted his Apartments in long Acre & went to reside in North Street Tottenham Court Road which is in the parish of Saint Pancras in the County of Middlesex & this Deponent with him & continued in his said service for the space of Seven Months or more in the said Parish of Saint Pancras in the County aforesaid.That she was in the Service of the saidMr Shaw for the space of Thirteen Months in the whole all under one hiring at the Yearly Wages of Seven pounds Diet & lodging quitted the same about Two Years since & hath not Kept House rented a Tenement of Ten pounds by the Year paid any parish Taxes nor been a Yearly hired Servant in any one place for Twelve Months together since & is now pregnant. // Sworn this 14th Day of July 1786 before us N Forster Wm Hyde // [signed Mary Gantlett] // N Rt remd // P
