Examination TextJohn Ward aged 39 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid passed from the Parish of St Luke in the County of Middlesex upon his oath saith that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes, that he was before his intermarriage and while single and unmarried a yearly hired servant to Mr. Hole who keeps the Wine Vaults near New Round Court in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of one whole year at the yearly wages of 9 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about five years ago, that he was married to his present wife Ann at holy Trinity Church in Kingston upon Hull in the County of York soon after he quitted the said service by whom he hath three children living to wit William aged four years and upwards, Rebbeccah aged one year and upwards and John aged seven weeks all now in the workhouse aforesaid. Taken in the workhouse the 16th Day of August 1756.
