JOSEPH DAVIS proceedingsdefend was indicted for that he in the king's highway in and upon John Vaughan proceedingsvictim did make an assault, putting him in corporal fear and danger of his life, and stealing from his person a silver watch, value 4 l. an iron watch chain, value two pence, a base metal watch key, value one penny, a half guinea, and thirteen pence halfpenny in money numbered, the property of the said John , June 3d .

There was no evidence to bring the charge home to the prisoner.
