600. THOMAS COPE proceedingsdefend was indicted for feloniously and traiterously coining and counterfeiting a piece of false, feigned, and counterfeit money and coin to the likeness and similitude of the good, legal, and current money of this realm called a shilling , against his allegiance and against the statute, &c. June 27th .

2d Count. For coining a six pence.

'There were no flasks found which are

'used in coining, and the prisoner was proved

'to be a prisoner in the liberties of the Fleet

'at the time, and had only gone to the

'house where he was taken that day to see

'his wife, who was ill there.'

NOT GUILTY .

Tried by the First Middlesex Jury before Mr. RECORDER.
